Add-On 3 1/2 Hour Whale Watching Tour

Join us aboard the Island Commuter 2 for our 3 1/2 hour whale watching cruise from 1:00PM to 4:30PM from Friday Harbor. Narrated by our captain, the cruise from Friday Harbor travels through the scenic San Juan waterways in search of awe-inspiring Orca whales and enchanting wildlife including sea otters, seals, porpoises, Minke whales and eagles. The Island Commuter 2 is one of the finest whale watching vessels in the San Juans with two levels of indoor and outdoor seating and a snack bar.

Eliza / Sinclair / Blakely / Orcas / Lopez Service

San Juan Island Commuter also offers daily service to Eliza, Sinclair, Blakely, Orcas and Lopez Islands during the summer months. Lopez and Orcas Islands have public services/parks. Eliza, Sinclair and Blakely Islands are residential islands without public services, accommodations or parks - you must either own property or know someone on these islands to visit them. For schedule and rate information and reservations please call us at 1-888-734-8180. Reservations are required to and from these islands and must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance for a full refund.

NOTE: Service to Sinclair Island is temporarily suspended while their dock is under repair.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations may be canceled up to 24 hours prior to departure. Any party canceling without notifying San Juan Island Commuter / Victoria San Juan Cruises prior to 24 hours before departure will forfeit the entire cruise fare.

Driving instructions

Driving instructions to San Juan Island Commuter / Victoria San Juan Cruises Office: Heading Northbound on Interstate 5: Take Exit 250 and exit freeway. Turn left on Old Fairhaven Parkway and follow the signs to "Alaska Ferry" and "Fairhaven Terminal". Heading Southbound on Interstate 5: Take Exit 250 and exit freeway. Turn right on Old Fairhaven Parkway and follow the signs to "Alaska Ferry" and "Fairhaven Terminal".

Itinerary

Depart from the Alaska Ferry Terminal in Bellingham at 9:30 am and cruise through the scenic San Juan Islands, arriving in historic Friday Harbor at 11:45 am.

Once in Friday Harbor you have nearly 5 hours to explore this charming village. You may choose to visit the Whale Museum, dine at one of the many restaurants and brewpubs, or just stroll and shop along Spring Street. We depart Friday Harbor at 4:30 pm and arrive back in Bellingham at 7:00 pm. As we travel through the San Juan Islands you'll have a chance to take in the breathtaking scenery & abundant wildlife of the region. We even make a brief stop at Orcas Island on the trip back to Bellingham, allowing time for passengers to stretch their legs, buy an ice cream bar, or stroll along the sandy beach.
